On the heels of purchasing Kansas City-based Great Plains Trucking Co., OrderPro Logistics said it plans to make several more trucking acquisitions before the year is out.

Third-party logistics provider OrderPro said it is actively pursuing acquisitions of mid-sized transportation companies, targeting three firms for its next round of purchases that have a total of $4.6 million in revenues.

Great Plains Trucking, by contrast, posted only $1 million in revenues last year, though OrderPro said it expects to expand Great Plains and eventually generate $2.5 million to $5.5 million in annual revenues.

Tucson, AZ-based OrderPro said its goal over the next two to three years is to have annual revenue of $50 million, and it plans to achieve that target primarily though acquisitions. The key factor in making a trucking purchase, however, is whether Orderpro can then deploy its 3PL service and software to the shippers that have contracts with the trucking firm being acquired.
