Transplace Inc., an online logistics and transportation management provider based in Plano, TX, will now offer its carrier members’ price deals on Yokohama tires.

"Tires clearly represent one of the largest expenses for our subscribing members and we are committed to providing members with savings on quality products from quality manufacturers. The arrangement with Yokohama will reduce our members' total tire expenditures," said Michael Ellenburg, executive vp of fleet-procurement services for Transplace.

The fleet-procurement services division of Transplace is designed to help subscribing members reduce procurement expenditures through discount programs on more than 150,000 items such as truck and trailer parts, lubricants, tools, shop supplies and office products, the company said. In addition, Transplace offers programs designed to lower prices for subscribing members on travel, lodging, drug and alcohol testing and fuel purchases.

Transplace said it currently has more than 5,000 carrier members and manages more than 1.2 million truckload and intermodal shipments and 5.7 million LTL shipments per year. The company was formed in July 2000 through the merger of the logistics subsidiaries of several truckload carriers – Covenant Transport, J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Swift Transportation, M.S. Carriers (since merged with Swift), U.S. Xpress Enterprises and Werner Enterprises.
