UPS Logistics Group, a subsidiary of Atlanta-based United Parcel Service Inc., has named Laura R. Peters senior vp of marketing and strategic planning. Peters has overall marketing and strategic responsibility for UPS Logistics on a global basis. She will concentrate on the company’s four primary business units: Supply Chain Management, Service Parts Logistics, Transportation Services and Logistics Technologies.

“We've experienced tremendous growth over the past year, particularly through five strategic acquisitions,” said UPS Logistics CEO Dan DiMaggio. “Now more than ever, our marketing, branding and strategic planning must be a directed, cohesive effort.”

Peters joined UPS Logistics from Burnham, an Atlanta-based third party logistics provider, where she served most recently as vice president of Marketing. In June last year, UPS Logistics acquired one of Burnham’s operating units, its national service parts operating network, to further expand its own service parts logistics infrastructure.
