Xata adds PDI to customer list

Xata Corp. has announced the addition of Perishable Distributors of Iowa Ltd. (PDI) to its list of private-fleet customers.

PDI will use Xata’s OpCenter fleet management system along with two-way satellite communications to support 70 trucks that operate in eight states in the Midwest.

PDI said it anticipates significant and immediate benefits, including increased driver productivity, reduced driver paperwork, increased fuel economy, reduced clerical time and improved asset utilization. It plans to go live with the new system in early 2003.
