YellowGlobal has won the U.S. Commerce Dept.'s Presidential "E" Award for excellence in export services.

Established under President John F. Kennedy, the award is given to American exporting firms and service organizations. Yellow Global is part of Meridian IQ, a transportation management service subsidiary of LTL conglomerate Yellow Corp. of Overland Park, KS.

Yellow Global won the award because it more than doubled the number of export shipments it manages over the past three years and for its use of information technology, said the Commerce Department. It cited in particular Yellow's development of Global QBT and Watchdog electronic shipping systems that help make international commerce easier and more secure.
