The editorial staff of FleetOwner has been presented with two prestigious American Society of Business Press Editors (ASBPE) Azbee Awards of Excellence.

The August 2005 "Roads to Hell" cover received the National Design Gold Award for Front Cover-Computer Generated (80,000 or more circulation).

Designed by FleetOwner senior art director Dan Zeis, this cover employs an eye-grabbing pothole-in the-shape of-America image to starkly illustrate at a glance what the cover story on America's crumbling highway infrastructure is all about.

The "Roads to Hell" editorial series, which appeared in the August and September 2005 issues, garnered the Northeast Regional Gold Award for Feature Series (80,000 or more).

Penned by David Cullen, Larry Kahaner, Jim Mele, Wendy Leavitt, Sean Kilcarr and Marilyn Wilson, this two-part series examines why America's roads are failing and what can be done about it. This top honor was gained against a highly competitive Northeast field, including entries submitted by such powerhouse publications as Business Week, Engineering News Record and PC Magazine.
