Beginning Jan. 1, 2007, Freightliner LLC plans to make fans and fan drives built by BorgWarner Thermal Systems standard on all of its Class 8 trucks.

The beefier fans will help cool engines that run hotter as a result of the more stringent emission regulations that go into effect in ’07, said Keith Pierson, director-global sales for Auburn Hills, MI-based BorgWarner Thermal Systems.

The deal covers the Kysor on/off fan drive and the new X-Series fan.
