J.D. Power and Associates announced the Caterpillar C-15 ranked the highest in customer satisfaction for vocational heavy-duty truck diesel engines in its 2005 Heavy-Duty Truck Engine/Transmission Study.
The C-15 ranked highest among vocational heavy-duty truck engine models, performing “significantly above” the segment across all satisfaction factors.
The three factors reviewed were engine quality and warranty, engine performance, and engine noise and vibration. The study yielded responses from 2,429 primary maintainers of two-year-old Class 8 trucks.
The Caterpillar C-12 followed the C-15 in rank.
“Caterpillar has consistently raised the performance bar by providing their customers with a high-quality product,” said Brian Etchells, senior manager of commercial vehicle research at J.D. Power and Associates.
