Schneider National on Sunday assisted DOT and FEMA by providing three tanker trucks and six drivers to help restore the diesel supply chain in and around the Greater New Orleans area. The trucks were sent to the Port of New Orleans to siphon diesel from a freighter, and then transported to various locations to fuel emergency vehicles and generators.

The effort was divided into two phases:

    1. Supply bulk trucks, tankers and drivers to transport fuel from Port of Louisiana to base camps
    2. Obtain as many diesel storage containers as possible. Schneider was able to secure 24 450-gallon stainless steel totes.
