Richfield, OH-based transportation insurance giant National Interstate Corp. (NIC) is reorganizing its executive suite to sharpen its focus on “high-impact opportunities.”
Gary Monda takes over as vp & chief investment officer, overseeing the company’s investment portfolio as well as managing and developing internal audits and investor relations functions established last year in conjunction with its initial public offering. Monda, who previously served as vp & CFO, will continue to report to Alan Spachman, the firm’s chairman and president.
Newly hired Julie McGraw replaces Monda as NIC’s vp & CFO. A 20-year veteran financial systems expert, she most recently worked as vp & CFO and treasurer for HMI Industries.
In addition to these changes, Mary Kapferer, assistant vp & chief accounting officer, has resigned, though she plans to stay temporarily to help the transition and with year-end fiscal reporting requirements.
