Pennsylvania and Delaware trucking corridors to see delays

Extensive roadwork is set to begin later this month on a section of I-80 in Luzerne County, PA, that will prompt long-term single-lane traffic, the Pennsylvania Dept. of Transportation warned. Construction is slated to begin on March 29 and is expected to continue through mid-summer.

Weather permitting, the I-80 roadwork schedule includes the following:

  • EXITS 242 – 256: Single-lane traffic on Tuesday, March 29 along a four-mile section of I-80 eastbound, between milemarker 247 and milemarker 251, as work begins on a concrete pavement and bridge repair project.
  • EXITS 242 -260: Single-lane traffic in both directions through varioius work areas between milemarker 247 and milemarker 260, beginning late March and continuing through the end of July. Traffic will affected 24/7, except holidays,

    The Delaware Dept. of Transportation reported that I-95 Northbound at Exit 4 (Wilmington New Castle Co.) will have all lanes closed from midnight until 05:00 a.m. March 29 - 31 to allow construction work on a bridge.

    A detour will be posted, with all motorists forced off onto US 1 Southbound to US 13 Northbound to I-295 Southbound, and back to I-95 or I-495 Northbound.
