The Transportation Marketing & Communication Association is renaming its annual award, which recognizes achievement in marketing and communications for the transportation and logistics industries, from the “Tranny Awards” to the “TMCA Compass Awards.”
TMCA has sponsored an awards program for more than five decades. Eligible companies that can participate in the program range from motor carriers, railroads, ocean carriers and air carriers to 3PLs, technology innovators, and passenger transit organizations.
The TMCA Compass Awards program is open to members and non-members of the association. Judging teams of industry experts throughout North America evaluate each entry based on a seven-point scaling system. Point totals determine entries that receive an award of excellence, an award of merit, and ultimately the “Best In Show” award.
“The transportation industry is in a constant state of change and faces significant challenges, ranging from capacity, security, fuel costs and other rising costs, and changing legislation and governmental compliance, to name a few,” said Brian Everett, TMCA executive director. “With these challenges in the marketplace, it's imperative that companies leverage marketing and communications strategies to support their business goals and deliver results. The TMCA Compass Awards encourages and recognizes organizations that do this effectively and creatively.”
