Road Systems Inc. (RSI) has been honored with the Truck Trailer Manufacturers Assn.’s (TTMA) 2010 Plant Safety Award. It is the second time RSI has received the award, previously winning in 2004.

RSI, which has decreased its incident frequency rate by more than 80% since winning in 2004, won the “C” category for plants sized 300,000 man-hours and under. According to the company, RSI was graded in seven areas: deaths, total lost workday cases, total cases with job transfer or restriction, days away from work, days of job transfer or job restriction, total number of other recordable cases and total cases (of injuries).

“Being recognized by TTMA for exemplary safety performance is a testament to the operational excellence and consistency our people deliver every day,” said Lynn Reinbolt, president, RSI. “We attribute the superior safety performance to the behavioral-based education being embraced by our employees. It's everyone’s responsibility to be safe - our employees are not just participants, but drivers of our safety program.”

Trailer manufacturer RSI is a subsidiary of Con-way Inc.
