Cargo Chief appointed logistics industry expert Patrick Malone as vice president of sales, responsible for building and managing all sales efforts. Cargo Chief made the announcement at the 2016 TIA (Transportation intermediaries Association) Conference in San Antonio. According to the company, Malone has more than 30 years in the logistics industry, responsible for revenue and profit growth within Truckload, LTL, Intermodal and Logistics companies. Most recently, he served as the vice president of sales and marketing for Transport America. “Pat’s experience leading the sales teams of national carriers will be an incredible asset as we continue to add to our network of more than 500,000 trucks that source loads for our shipping customers,” said Cargo Chief CEO Russell Jones. “As a sales leader, Pat has a talent for diagnosing customer needs and finding innovative solutions that grow revenue while mentoring talent within an organization. We’re thrilled to have him join the Cargo Chief team.”Cargo Chief said Malone also served as vice president of Sales with Celtic International and USF Corporation. “Cargo Chief’s technology innovations, including defining actionable data to reveal hidden capacity for shipping customers, have helped to revitalize the trucking industry,” Malone said. “I can speak from experience to some of the challenges that trucking companies are facing in today’s uncertain marketplace and how Cargo Chief can make a difference—we can help any carrier compete for loads on a daily basis.”
