Mobile app assists in truck rental, locating maintenance and fueling locations

A new smartphone application from Ryder System will assist users in locating truck rental facilities, maintenance, and fuel locations.The Ryder Locator will search for the nearest Ryder facility and identify the specific services offered at each location

“As a leader in the transportation industry, Ryder has a long history of introducing new technology to help customers run their fleets more efficiently,” said John Gleason, senior vice president, sales & marketing, for Ryder Fleet Management Solutions. “The new Ryder Locator app helps to meet our customers’ expectations for information at their fingertips, while facilitating productivity with instant and easy access to Ryder location and service information.”

The app filters results by location (city, state and/or zip code) or service offering. Turn-by-turn directions are offered or users can call a Ryder employee through a one-touch button. The app also gives 24/7 emergency roadside assistance support.

It is available for iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android devices and free to download from iTunes, Android Market, and BlackBerry App World.
