• A pioneer turns 25

    Nov. 11, 2013

Reflecting on how time truly flies is the arrival at the quarter-century mark of Omnitracs Inc., a pioneering supplier of IT solutions to fleet owners.

Established in 1988 by Qualcomm Inc., the company was in the vanguard for the rollout of wireless telematics technology to trucking.  The company remarks that, upon signing a major carrier known itself for innovation—Schneider National—as its first customer that year, the firm “effectively established the building blocks of the commercial vehicle telematics industry.  The company has built upon this heritage with customers … to guide continued technology advancements driven directly by these long-standing customer relationships.”
