Trimble enhances driver safety solution

Nov. 13, 2012

Enhancements have been made to the GeoManager Driver Safety solution to improve communication and management of behaviors that influence driver and vehicle safety, Trimble said.

The latest improvements include new report formats, an improved executive dashboard and driver scorecards, and real-time delivery of idling and speeding alerts, all increasing visibility into risky driving behavior. The solution informs multiple stakeholders within a business, from human resources to the board of directors, to monitor both trends and individual behaviors.

The program is a field service solution that enables organizations to manage driving behaviors by identifying and rewarding good drivers, and recognizing and coaching drivers who put the company at risk, Trimble said. Driver Safety provides reports on hard braking, rapid acceleration, hard turns and excessive speeding. These reports can be configured for daily, weekly and monthly use, and alerts can be programmed for real-time feedback.

“Monitoring driving safety allows organizations to help mitigate risk by measuring safe driving habits, which can result in fewer crashes and lower insurance rates,” said Mark Forrest, general manager of Trimble field service management. “With GeoManager Driver Safety, we’re better able to configure the safety needs of a field service fleet. The latest enhancements, which include the Driver Safety’s executive dashboard, driver scorecards and exception alerts, can allow companies to improve driving patterns and optimize safety while helping to reduce liability.”
