Werner Enterprises president to keynote ALK Transportation Technology Summit

Derek Leathers, president & COO of Werner Enterprises, will deliver the keynote address at the upcoming ALK Transportation Technology Summit - Driving Innovation: Connecting Compliance and Efficiency.

The event, sponsored by ALK Technologies, will be held May 15-17 in Princeton, NJ.

Leathers has worked in the transportation and logistics industry for over 20 years. Throughout his tenure at Werner, he has held integral roles in many facets of the organization, including the establishment of Werner’s Mexico operations, oversight for all asset operating groups and leading the launch of Werner Global Logistics, which encompasses transportation management and freight movement within Intermodal, ocean, air and brokerage. 

The conference, now in its 8th year, offers transportation, logistics and manufacturing companies guidance on how to maximize operational efficiency. Topics will include driver performance and operating cost management, safety, compliance and supply chain efficiency, as well as innovations in wireless technology and in-cab solutions. Speakers include senior executives from Intermec, McLeod Software, PeopleNet, Qualcomm, TMW Systems, Xata Corp. and numerous others. Presentations and roundtables will address key challenges facing all sectors of the industry today, including truckload, LTL, intermodal, private fleets, manufacturers, and logistics service providers.
