DALLAS. Fleets using PC*Miler to build and optimize routes can now download those routes wirelessly to the CoPilot Truck navigation application running on a smartphone, tablet, laptop or onboard computer, according ALK Technologies, developer of both products. The company also announced integration of the latest PC*Miler 25 and PC*Miler|Tolls 25 releases with TMW Systems software.
In addition to using PC*Miler for determining driver mileage pay, many fleets also integrate it into dispatch, optimization and other operational systems to devise highly customized routes, according to Michael Kornhouser, ALK sr. vp of enterprise solutions. While the onboard CoPilot system will calculate truck-specific routes, the new RouteSync will allow a fleet to send those operationally customized routes to their drivers, he told Fleet Owner. RouteSync also allows fleets to set stop order, choose roads or locations to avoid, specify vehicle dimensions, and determine other route options.
Once a route is downloaded to CoPilot, RouteSync will monitor route adherence, navigating drivers back to the planned route and notifying dispatchers with real-time out-of-route email alerts. Total out-of-route mileage is also reported via email at the end of each trip, according to Kornhouser.
RouteSync will be available for CoPilot Truck users with smartphones and tablets through the Apple App store and the Android Market, as well as for both the Windows and web-subscription version of PC*Miler.
The certification and integration of ALK’s PC*Miler 25 and PC*Miler|Tolls 25 with TMW’s software will allow them to be used within TMW’s Optimization Software products, including IDSC ExpertFuel, IDSC TripAlert, and IDSC MatchAdvice, Appian Logistics, TruckMate and TMWSuite.
When integrated with TMW’s products, PC*Miler 25 can be delivered as a hosted solution through TMW Managed Services.
