A new cardless fueling option from Comdata Corp. speeds the fueling process and virtually eliminates any paperwork or data entry tasks, the company said.
The solution utilizes the Fuel Island Manager platform from QuikQ, and radio frequency identification (RFID) technology.
“Increasingly, transportation companies are looking for innovative programs that make their business more efficient and secure,” said Steve Stevenson, Comdata president. “Our new cardless program delivers both, offering convenience to keep their trucks moving and control to mitigate their risk of fraud.”
To use the program, companies simply install an RFID tag in a vehicle and when that vehicle drives into an RFID-equipped fueling location, the authorization immediately begins. According to Comdata, by the time the driver steps out to the pump, the purchase has been authorized according to specific controls established for the vehicle.
