MiTac International’s Magellan GPS device lineup has a new truck-focused RoadMate 5190T that offers a 5-in. touchscreen, plus customized routes based on a truck’s height, weight, width, length, and Hazmat restrictions.

In addition to the usual multi-segment routing, the 5190T can automatically optimize the route based on a given set of delivery destinations to save time and fuel.

The 5190T includes specific truck speed limits, which are often lower on Interstates. The 5190T also includes a highway exit category in its 6-million POI entry database for finding truck stops, weight stations, lodging, and rest areas.

In addition, the 5190T includes a tracking log for recording hours of service, plus driving status, hours, and state mileage for IFTA fuel records with an export feature for compliance reporting.

The device also includes real-time traffic, Bluetooth, and a 93dB speaker that allows direction messages from the device to be heard over the noise of an 18-wheeler’s engine. The A/V input allows users to plug in a backup camera, DVD player, or iPod.

The 5190T will be unveiled this week at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 in Las Vegas. Suggested retail price is $379.95.
