A new fuel card reconciliation report added to the Telogis Fleet vehicle management solution allows fleet managers to match fuel-card use to vehicle GPS data to verify authorized use of the card. To detect theft, the report will note that the card has been used without an approved vehicle nearby.
“We see this as another way for fleet managers in all industries to monitor and protect their mobile resources,” said Jason Koch, president of Telogis Fleet. “Fuel expenses are always going to be part of the cost of doing business, but this fuel card report gives fleet managers a tool to help identify and end unauthorized expenditures.”
Using spatial analysis to match GPS history to the fuel card purchase history, Telogis said it is able to generate reports detailing when and where a vehicle was in relation to that fuel-card usage assigned to that driver/vehicle.
