Gilbarco Veeder-Root has announced that its Gasboy CFN III site controller/point of sale system Version 3.6 is compliant with the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS). The system will soon be included on the PCI SSC’s List of Validated Payment Applications.

The list identifies payment applications that have been audited by an independent assessor, found to be compliant with the industry’s most stringent set of comprehensive standards designed to protect consumer card and PIN data, then approved by the PCI SSC, noted the company. These applications prevent storage of sensitive data, such as full magnetic stripe, CVV2 or PIN data, use designated data encryption methods, require strong passwords, and other protections.

“We are committed to a proactive, long-term partnership with fleet operators and are proud to provide systems that help prevent data compromises and breaches,” said Kevin DeVinney, director of dispensers and fleet systems at Gilbarco Veeder-Root.

The company noted that the Gasboy CFN III is part of a complete line for fleet operations, including fuel dispensers, fleet management systems, vehicle identification and authorization systems, tank gauges and more.
