Safety software allows visualization of driving behaviors

Fleet managers can now view a single map that includes all of their safety events with a new product offering from SmartDrive Systems

Fleet managers can now view a single map that includes all of their safety events with a new product offering from SmartDrive Systems. The offering, the SmartDrive Measured Safety Program, incorporates Bing Maps for Enterprise (formerly Microsoft Virtual Earth) to allow managers to visually see unsafe driving behaviors previously undetectable, the company said.

“My first time using SmartDrive with integrated maps was an enlightening experience," said Mike Connell of Karst Stage airport and bus transportation in Bozeman, MT. “In minutes, I was able to pinpoint an area where my drivers had made multiple incomplete stops in the past week, and could coach my staff before crashes occur.”

The maps will be fully integrated into all existing SmartDrive accounts later in June and will be included into the program at no additional cost.
