Truck component supplier Wabco Holdings Inc. is entering into a long -term agreement with Italy-based truck maker Iveco to provide its air processing unit for Iveco’s complete range of trucks sold in Brazil and Argentina, starting in 2012.

Wabco said the latest generation of this air-processing technology combines a multi-protection valve with air dryer and air cartridge systems within a more compact design.

The company said the new design boosts reliability and performance while increasing energy efficiencies for Iveco’s line of light- medium- and heavy-duty trucks.

“This new agreement with Iveco further demonstrates our technology leadership while also growing our air management business in South America,” said Nikhil Varty, Wabco vp for compression and braking.

“Our partnership with Iveco continues to expand as we add value for their vehicles through global capabilities that increase vehicle performance, maximize reliability, improve energy savings and provide clean air solutions,” Varty added.
