Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems will open an onsite healthcare center at its Huntington, IN, manufacturing complex.
Through a partnership with Marathon Health, Bendix’s Huntington employees will have workplace access to total population health management, including primary care, health assessments, health coaching, and disease management. The Marathon Health MedicalHome@Work onsite healthcare model will also serve the spouses and children of Bendix employees.
“The employees at Bendix are on a journey for wellness. We have been encouraged and inspired by the way our Huntington employees and their families have embraced the Bendix employee wellness program and its goals to live a healthier life each and every day,” said Diane Shields, Bendix vice president of HR and organizational development. “Being physically active and focused on good nutrition are keys to this effort, and this onsite health center, powered by Marathon Health, will give them even more opportunity to stay healthy through enhanced medical care, education, prevention, and early detection.”
The health center is expected to open in September. It will offer preventive and primary care services, follow-up care, and referral management. Onsite clinicians can either serve as employee primary care physicians or coordinate with employees’ current doctors.
The Bendix employee wellness program consists of five categories: weight management, physical activity, tobacco cessation, and stress management, along with prevention and early detection. Yearly physicals and blood screenings are available to employees and family members free of charge through the program. In addition, employees receive an annual personal health assessment – along with free access to resources and counselors through their insurance carrier – to help each individual develop a personal health plan.
Bendix facilities across North America also include onsite employee fitness centers and walking paths, as well as a shared commitment to provide healthy catering and healthy vending machine options.
