Transport officials in Jordan said Tuesday the 11,000 transport trucks available there are ready to haul the Iraq-bound aid expected to start flowing in from international aid agencies to the Port of Aqaba.
Mahmoud Zu'bi, president of Jordan Truck Owners Association (JTOA), told The Jordan Times that the entire fleet's capacity is a maximum 500,000 tons monthly, which is the amount of food and medical supplies that humanitarian organizations are slated to dispatch monthly to Iraq.
The United Nations said this week Aqaba as a major port used to deliver humanitarian aid to Iraq.
